The Friday Focus – 08/04/16

The girls have enjoyed spending time with their cousins on both sides of the family this week.  Hubby’s cousin and her twin girls were visiting from Luxembourg and the four girls had a wonderful time together in the garden, making a nature collage and just enjoying being together again.

We also went to stay with my twin sister during the week and it is always lovely to see our four girls together – despite the age gap between her daughters and mine, they have a wonderfully close bond which is a joy to see.

Things I have loved this week:

  • An afternoon exploring the site where the Magna Carta was signed at Runnymede.

  • Watching Jessica having fun bringing her drawings to life at the launch of the BIC DrawyBook app.

  • Celebrating my blog turning two with a yummy cake from Baker Days – plus you can also win one for yourself.
  • Watching Toy Story 3 with the girls (and yes, it did make me cry).
  • A playdate in the park with one of Jessica’s friends from Tiny Talk and watching the girls having fun feeding the ducks and chasing the pigeons around.

  1. Toy Story 3 gets me every single time! Looks like you’ve had a lovely week, so nice to spend time with family. My two had their cousins here yesterday, and despite my nephews being 19 and 13, they get on so brilliantly and I suspect they may be Little Man’s favourite people in the whole world! Glad you’ve had a good one, thanks for sharing with #WotW x

    1. It must be lovely to see that bond between your nephews and Little Man too – even with the age gap. I’d been warned about Toy Story 3 and was quite glad I didn’t see it in the cinema as I would have been quite embarrassed to be sitting there blubbing like a baby! Thanks for hosting #WotW 🙂

  2. Hi Louise, how lovely that your girls got to enjoy time with their cousins this week that photo of the four cousins in front of the brick arch is really nice. You have certainly had a successful week too in regards to being featured. I love children’s films, but was never a fan of Toy Story and I have no idea why!

    xx

    1. Thanks Debbie – I love that photo of the four girls together and it is lovely to see the girls having so much fun with their cousins. My girls love the Toy Story films 🙂

  3. I thought the pics of the girls with their cousins this week was lovely. There’s 13 years between me and mine and we always got on! Lovely family week for you and some great blog achievements! Happy blog birthday xx #wotw

  4. I grew up with lots of cousins and I have learned so many things from them school wise and life in general and this is the thing that I know my won will miss in life. Your children are so lucky to be able to spend time with their cousins! #wotw

    1. How lovely that you grew up with lots of cousins – I missed out a little on this as mine were all a lot older so it is nice to see my girls having fun with theirs.

    1. It’s been a lovely week, thank you Laura. No, not identical – my twin and I look quite different from each other although sometimes I can see more of a likeness in photos of us together.

  5. Louise I sobbed the first time I watched Toy Story 3 and we were going on a cruise, I embarked the ship with red puffy eyes. It still gets me now. Happy blog birthday I was 2 in Feb can you believe we have got to 2 how amazing, I just wish I hadn’t spent so long thinking about it and done it earlier. Have a fab week x

  7. Aww how cute the girls look with their big cousins! I have never seen Toy Story 3 and actually I don’t think my boys have seen any of the Toy Story films so that will be on our list. Thanks for linking up to #HappyDaysLinky x

  8. I always cry at the end of Toy Story 3 although I dont actually like the movie as a whole. Glad you had fun with your sister, I can’t wait for mine to have cousins to play with. Thanks for sharing in #HappyDaysLinky x
