Friday Focus 04/04/2025 – Lighter

We’ve been making the most of the lovely sunshine and the lighter evenings this week and have enjoyed a couple of late afternoon trips to the park. The nice weather has helped make my mood a little lighter this week too. There have been grief-storms, but there have been lots of nice moments too and I’m thankful for that.

The word 'Lighter' in increasingly lighter shades of blue

What I’ve been grateful for this week:

Thomas's story; Thomas and Sophie having a pillow fight; my Mother's Day cards and flowers; Sophie helping Thomas at the park; Thomas eating an ice-cream at the park; Sophie holding one end of the seesaw at the park; washing on the line - "#365daysofgratitude 2025 - Week 14"

  • Day 87 – I am grateful for Thomas coming home with a story that he wrote and illustrated. Love that he added that he was the author and illustrator on the back page. Reminds me so much of how Jessica used to love writing and illustrating stories too.

  • Day 88 – I am grateful for pillow fights.

  • Day 89 – I am grateful for my lovely Mother’s Day cards and flowers

  • Day 90 – I am grateful for lighter evenings.

  • Day 91 – I am grateful for ice cream.

  • Day 92 – I am grateful that Sophie has now been offered a place at her first choice for secondary school.

  • Day 93 – I am grateful for being able to get lots of washing out on the line this week and for getting the laundry mountain back under control!

Other things that have made me smile this week:

  • Treating myself to some pretty shoes that were in the sale.

Rainbow coloured Mary Jane shoes with pictures of cakes on them

  • Watching Sophie helping Thomas at the playground.

Sophie helping Thomas on the climbing frame

  • Sophie getting her grade 2 ballet, grade 2 theatre-craft and silver modern awards.

  • Seeing little green shoots appearing at Jessica’s forever bed, although I suspect they’ll get munched by the deer before they have a chance to grow if previous years are anything to go by.
