Exploring Grandma’s garden

I am very fortunate in that my in-laws live just over a mile away from us and so get to see the girls very frequently. Jessica and Sophie both love spending time with their Grandma and Grandad and now that the warmer weather is starting to arrive, they can also get to spend time exploring in the garden.

It’s a lovely big garden – about an acre in size so lots of space for the girls to explore and wander about. Sometimes there are pheasants in the garden – Grandma spotted three of them wandering about yesterday morning although we’ve yet to see any when we’ve been visiting.

There are lots of pretty flowers and Jessica has learned not to pick Grandma’s daffodils now. Sophie has yet to try! The daisies and dandelions can be picked as much as the girls like though.

Grandma’s cat Saffron likes to explore the garden although usually disappears quite quickly once she spots the girls (and was a bit too quick for me to capture her on camera). Jessica likes to chase after her, shouting rather bossily “Come here, Saffron, come here now!”

It was just lovely to be able to get outside for a while and watch both the girls being able to run about and enjoy being out in the fresh air.

  1. I love seeing all the blog posts of everyone getting out and about in last week’s sun. Lovely photos and lucky to live so close to grandparents. #countrykids

  2. Grandparents with a large interesting garden are a definite bonus. Yours looks as though it is definitely a great place in spring. Lovely daffodils!

  3. Grandmas garden looks like the perfect place to escape into outdoor adventures and the girls do appear to be in their element. It must feel like there’s a whole new world hidden at Grandmas. I love the last photo of the girls, i looks like Jessica’s telling Sophie something funny. Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.

    1. Thank you Fiona – it is a lovely place for them to explore. Lovely to link up again 🙂

  4. Hi Louise, what a lovely garden for the children to run around in. I bet your Mum gets squirrels and all sorts there….Love your girls all in ones. It reminds me of why I left England!

    xx
