A paper heart with "Jessica" on it hanging from a tree and #365daysofgratitude

Since 2016, I have taken part in a daily gratitude challenge, sharing a photo of one thing I am thankful for each day on Instagram. There have been days when finding little things to be grateful for has been very easy to do and others when it has been incredibly hard. Life as a bereaved… Read More

Jessica standing in front of a tree looking out over a big branch - "Country Kids"

Welcome to Country Kids. Country Kids, originally hosted by Fiona at Coombe Mill, is all about sharing outdoor family fun. It was one of the first linkies I joined in when I started my blog four years ago and helped inspire me to enjoy so many outdoor adventures with my girls and create happy memories.… Read More

13/12/201912/12/2019
The word 'hope' in rainbow colours

Sophie standing in front of an Egyptian mural

Disclosure: We were invited to a press event and gifted tickets to the Tutankhamun: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh exhibition. All thoughts and opinions are my own.   As a child I loved reading about Ancient Egypt, learning about pharaohs and pyramids. I remember learning about the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb, and the treasures found… Read More

Visiting Santa by narrowboat

11/12/201910/12/2019
Sophie standing in front of a red narrowboat

Last year, Sophie enjoyed taking a narrowboat ride to go and visit Santa. It was such a lovely way to see Santa that I decided to do it again this year for our family time in December. Last time, hubby and Sophie had the last two spaces on the boat trip. This time I was… Read More

Toilet roll snowmen – a simple winter craft

09/12/201908/12/2019
Two snowmen made from white paper covered toilet roll tubes with pipe cleaner and pompom scarves and earmuffs

We were inspired to make these cute little toilet roll snowmen after spotting some similar ones at the local Christmas tree festival. They’re very simple to make and would be a good craft activity for preschool-age children or above. My 6-year-old was able to make hers by herself, but younger children may need a little… Read More
