For the last two years, I have taken part in a daily gratitude challenge – sharing one photo a day on Instagram of something I am grateful for. It’s taught me to look for the little things and has made me a more positive person. It has not always been easy to find something to be grateful for each day though, especially since losing my beautiful daughter Jessica in April. Jessica’s zest for life, her strength and the joy that she gave to all who knew her have always inspired me. I continue with this challenge every day in honour of her.
Day 238 – I am grateful for a lovely afternoon with friends at their summer party.
Day 239 – I am grateful for Sophie’s enthusiasm when it comes to hunting for Gromits. It reminds me so much of how much Jessica loved looking for the Shaun the Sheep sculptures three years ago. Jessica would have been very excited to see a giant Morph in the Gromit shop – she loved watching Morph on DVD. Couldn’t resist including her in the photo with it.
Day 240 – I am grateful for all the baby toys that we kept from when the girls were babies. Thomas is starting to look around a lot more now and this jungle baby gym was always a favourite with the girls when they were babies. Sophie quite likes lying underneath it now when Thomas is not using it!
Day 241 – I am grateful that Sophie had fun making this beautiful flowery hat at Iver Environment Centre.
Day 242 – I am grateful that Thomas generally tolerates his sister’s enthusiastic loving and big cuddles quite well.
Day 243 – I am grateful for a fun morning meeting up with a friend and hunting for dinosaurs in Black Park.
Day 244 – I am grateful that we managed to find all the Gromit Unleashed 2 sculptures.
