I’m not usually one for mentioning the “C” word in early October, but Christmas isn’t all that far away and will be here before we know it. My Christmas planning usually starts in November though. Sophie’s birthday falls at end of October so my thoughts about toy shopping tend to focus on that first before turning to Christmas. This week though, Smyths Toys Superstores have announced their top toys for Christmas 2017. Their list has given me some ideas for what Sophie might like for her birthday as well as what the girls might like for Christmas.
The list includes toys from well-known names such as LEGO, Nerf, PJ Masks and PAW Patrol. There’s a range of different prices covered – starting at an RRP of £17.99 for the Toilet Trouble Game up to an RRP of £199.99 for Cozmo by Anki. Here’s the full list:
Smyths Toys Superstores Top Toys List:
- FurReal Roarin’ Tyler the Playful Tiger
- LEGO Ninjago Movie Destiny’s Bounty
- PJ Masks Deluxe Talking Figure 4-Pack
- Laser X
- Paw Patrol Sea Patroller
- Sky Viper Stunt Drone
- Imaginext DC Super Friends Batbot Xtreme
- Nerf Modulus Regulator
- Luvabella Doll
- Toilet Trouble Game
- LOL Surprise Big Surprise
- Bush Baby World Dream Tree and Bush Babies
- Cozmo by Anki
- Our Generation Healthy Paws Vet Clinic
- Thomas & Friends Super Station
The FurReal Roarin’ Tyler the Playful Tiger is my favourite item on the list. This adorable roaring little tiger looks amazing. I am sure that both my girls would adore this although the RRP of £134.99 is possibly a little outside Santa’s usual budget.
The PAW Patrol Sea Patroller is more within our budget at an RRP of £69.99 though. Sophie is a huge fan of PAW Patrol and I could see her playing for hours with something like this. The Sea Patroller also includes Ryder’s Rescue ATV Vehicle, Ryder Figure, Exploration Platform, Octopus, 2 Life Rings and an Anchor.
Jessica is a big fan of small world play. The Our Generation Healthy Paws Vet Clinic (RRP £99.99) would be right up her street. The playset doesn’t include the doll, outfit or pets but it does include a waiting room, exam table, X-ray light-up box that really lights up and more than 50 accessories.
Playing games as a family is also a big part of our Christmas tradition. The Toilet Trouble game looks like it would be lots of fun to play. My girls would find it hilarious to see Mummy or Daddy flushing the toilet and getting sprayed with water.
The toys on the list all feature in the latest Smyths catalogue, which you can pick up in store. They are available in all Smyths stores nationwide and you can find your nearest store here. Some of the toys in the list are so popular though that they were out of stock when I checked the website.
To coincide with their top toys selection, Smyths Toys and Canterbury Travel are offering one lucky family the chance to meet Santa Claus and all eight of his reindeer in his Arctic homeland in the North Pole. The winner and their family will get to meet Santa Claus in addition to experiencing a host of traditional Arctic activities such as a classic sleigh ride pulled by huskies and reindeer. Visit www.Smythstoys.com for more details on how to enter.
Are any of the toys on this list on your children’s wishlist for Christmas?

The kids have been going through the Smyths catalogue just this week and some of these have been mentioned! Like you, I wait until after my kids birthdays before thinking Christmas, but as Little Man’s was last month and Boo’s was yesterday, I will soon start planning! x
The girls love looking through it. It’s easier to start planning once you get past birthdays though
We also have a birthday before Christmas and we are always looking for inspiration! I can’t get over how much some of the toys are though! Better start spreading the shopping now!
Thanks so much for linking to #coolmumclub x
Lol yes some of them are a bit outside our budget!
I think my eldest would love to get her hands on the Thomas and Friends Super Station. #coolmumclub
It does look like fun 🙂
