It’s crazy how quickly the weeks go by now that we are in a routine of school and preschool. Once we get home from the school run, the afternoon whizzes by in a blur of busyness – reading, doing the weekly home learning book activity, getting dinner ready and the girls fed and then before I know it it’s time for bath and bed. Weekends are a little more leisurely but still fly by too fast for my liking!
While I can’t quite believe that we are midway through March already, it is lovely that the weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer and there are signs of Spring everywhere. We’re starting to shed the winter coats and enjoy trips to the park after school. Making the most of the time when Jessica and Sophie are together.
These days, most of my photos of my girls together seem to be of the backs of their heads as they head off on an adventure together or focus on small world imaginative play. Trying to get them to both look at the camera and get my siblings shots each month requires a little more effort – and as soon as one looks at the camera, the other will invariably look away! Thank goodness for digital cameras and being able to take several shots in the hope that maybe one of them will be a good one!
Jessica (5 years 6 months)
- Has been gaining weight well and has now been discharged from the dietitian.
- Had her cardiac check-up and all was well – the plan is still to try and get her to 18kg before her next surgery takes place. If she continues along her current centile, she’ll reach it this time next year.
- Enjoyed dressing up as a cat for World Book Day.
- Received an award of the week at school for always taking turns.
- Had a lovely time visiting the animal park on her Girls’ Brigade outing. I enjoyed getting to come along and have some one-to-one time too!
Â
Sophie (3 years 4 months)
- Is making friends at preschool and thoroughly enjoying herself.
- Has gained a new wardrobe as Jessica’s recently outgrown clothes have been moved into Sophie’s. Despite getting lots of new outfits, Jessica isn’t too keen on Sophie wearing what she still sees as being her clothes!
- Enjoyed having one-to-one time with Daddy while Jessica was on her Girls’ Brigade outing.
- Is getting very confident in the swimming pool and loves splashing and trying to swim whilst wearing her Puddle Jumper.
- Loves small world play and making up stories with her toys.
Ahh your girls are so cute! I know what you mean, I can’t get my guys to look at the camera for a photo very often either. Well, there’s so many more exciting things to do! x
Thanks Louise. Definitely more exciting things to do than posing for photos! Although if they just stay still for two seconds they could get back to what they were doing so much quicker!
Ah my girls love a whole new wardrobe of hand me downs too!
It’s always nice to get a whole load of “new” clothes 🙂
The time does fly once they’re at school, doesn’t it? By the time you’re home, there’s little time to do much more! Lovely photos, Sophie looks so grown up x
The afternoons are just manic sometimes! Sophie is growing up so quickly – I keep looking at her and wondering where that baby of mine disappeared to!
Bless your gorgeous girls, love the happy smile photos. I’m with you in time flying by now the school routine rules our lives! Xx
Thank you Caroline. That routine does make the week fly by, doesn’t it? x
Ah your gorgeous girls, always smiling. It’s lovely to see outdoor photos with no coats, spring is on its way! I love it when Holly moves up an age in clothes and has a whole new wardrobe of Alice’s old clothes. It brings back happy memories of when Alice wore them x #siblingsproject
That’s the nicest thing about passing clothes on to siblings isn’t it – I have so many happy memories with Jessica’s clothes and it is so lovely to see them again on Sophie x
The girls always have the best smiles, even if they’re never both looking at the camera at the same time! Always so lovely to see! #siblingsproject
Thank you so much! I do love seeing their big smiles when they’re together 🙂
Aww your girls are just adorable, and I know what you mean about finding you take a lot of pictures of the back of their heads, it always seems to be the way with mine too!
Thank you Carie. It is frustrating sometimes to be constantly taking photos of them from behind but also lovely to see them heading off to have fun together 🙂
Such cuties! I am completely with you in terms of time left after we get home from the school run. Bring on the Easter holidays :-). Your comment about getting both girls to smile for the camera made me giggle. My youngest is only 10 weeks old and obviously doesn’t smile on demand just yet, but when I did get her to smile, the older one looked the other way or contorted her face.
Thank you Heidi. I’m looking forward to the Easter holidays too. So funny that as soon as your youngest did smile for the camera, the older one looked the other way – I’m sure they have a sixth sense for these things!
It sounds like a good month was had all round. I too sometimes think all of my photos are from the back but I do love that they go off on adventures together!
It is lovely to see them going off an adventures together – even if it does mean constantly taking photos of them from behind! 🙂
The shot I front of the cherry blossom needs framing Hun it is beautiful. I agree the time seems
To be on double speed when school Begins. #siblingsproject
Thanks Catie. I need to get around to printing and framing some more photos. That shot is definitely on the list!
I love from the back photos watching them explore the world. They are so cute together here. Sisters and friends forever. I love the sister bond its so unique and special. #siblingsproject
Thank you Jenny. It is lovely watching siblings heading off and exploring together, isn’t it? 🙂
Such happy photos of your girls! And that’s really good news about Jessica’s weight gain. x
Thank you Madeline. It’s good to see her doing well 🙂
Aww they are such cuties and it sounds like they are doing brilliantly. #siblingsproject
Thank you Lisa – they are little sweethearts (most of the time anyway!!) 🙂
