We’re continuing to work our way through the summer activities list this week. We’ve been hunting for elephant sculptures in Windsor, had a day at the Science museum, enjoyed a fun and floats session at the swimming pool, gone bowling, made ice-cream and had an afternoon on the nets at Go Ape.

Sophie and Thomas enjoyed their day at the Science Museum. It was the first time that Thomas had been and he particularly enjoyed getting hands on with the exhibits in the Wonderlab.

We’ve also enjoyed some chilled out time at home. Sophie has dug out her old princess castle pop-up tent which is now set up in the living room and she and Thomas keep trying to sleep in it, but so far have given up quite early on and gone back to their beds, which are much more comfy! They’ve also been having great fun with the walkie-talkies that Thomas got for his birthday.

I had a lovely afternoon seeing Chitty with my mum and two of my sisters who absolutely loved the show and getting to see Sophie performing on stage. Later in the week, Sophie and I had an evening out together to see another Jeremy-Jemima pair performing in Chitty. She found it quite strange being in the audience but loved watching her friends in the cast. We were right at the front of the slips and I loved the little in-character reactions from various cast members when they spotted her (which were obvious to us but the rest of the audience wouldn’t have noticed them!)

What I’ve been grateful for this week:

- Day 212 – I am grateful for homemade watermelon ice-cream.
- Day 213 – I am grateful for a lovely afternoon at the theatre with my mum and two of my sisters getting to see Sophie in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Always such a joy to watch her on stage.
- Day 214 – I am grateful for an afternoon looking for elephants in Windsor.
- Day 215 – I am grateful for a fun day enjoying swimming and bowling.
- Day 216 – I am grateful for a day out at the Science Museum.
- Day 217 – I am grateful for watching Thomas playing so happily with the robot he bought at the Science Museum with his birthday money.
- Day 218 – I am grateful for walkie-talkies.
Other things that have made me smile this week:
- My mum telling me that she’s taken up line-dancing at the age of 86 and is absolutely loving it!
- Sophie being featured on a video for Girls’ Brigade to promote their Create Fest competition and the lovely comments from her previous GB leaders.
