Creating Christmas cards

We’ve made a start on the Christmas crafts now with Jessica making her first Christmas cards.

We often use some of Jessica’s paintings as backgrounds for card making and this time we used them to create a Christmas tree on the card. I cut out a Christmas tree shape from a painting where she’d used a lot of green paint and a square for the pot from a red painting and helped Jessica stick these to the card.

We put a gold star at the top of the tree and then Jessica decorated the tree with sparkly sticker strips and stars. A lovely simple craft activity which she enjoyed and I think the cards look fab too!

  1. Beautiful cards! I love the fact you used a painting by Jessica to cut out the trees. Definitely something we will do! All pinned on my Christmas cards board. x

    1. Thank you Mel – love how it’s so simple but so effective and Jessica really enjoyed making them. It’s a great way of using up some of the paintings too – thinking of doing some more with baubles instead of trees to use up the more multicoloured paintings x

  2. Grace says – These are lovely. We think Jessica has done a FAB job and we’re so pleased she’s a member of the GL Gang 🙂

  3. Hi my lovely, just a quick message to let you know I linked to your post in my latest one. Your cute cards provided the inspiration for the bags the children will give to their teachers for Christmas. xxx
