For the last two years, I have taken part in a daily gratitude challenge – sharing one photo a day on Instagram of something I am grateful for. It’s taught me to look for the little things and has made me a more positive person. Even on the difficult days, I have managed to find something that I can be thankful for. It’s now become such a positive part of my life that I’ve decided to keep going for a third year. To find something in every day that I am thankful for, no matter how small. These weekly summaries have become a lovely way of looking back across the week, and a reminder that I have so much to be thankful for. These are the things that I have been thankful this week:
Day 35 – I am grateful to see spring flowers starting to appear.
Day 36 – I am grateful for hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows and two little girls who still think I’m the most wonderful mummy in the whole world despite having been a very grumpy mummy today. It’s been one of those days when my patience levels have constantly run low and little things have wound me up more than they should have done. Hopefully an early night will result in me being a much nicer mummy tomorrow.
Day 37 – I am grateful for being able to enjoy so much one-to-one time with Jessica at the moment. I think I will miss it once she is back at school.
Day 38 – I am grateful for a lovely nature walk with my girls on a cold sunny afternoon. Very impressed with how well Jessica coped with the walking – this would have been about her limit pre-Fontan. We did take it slowly though which helped.
Day 39 – I am grateful for pretty notebooks. Love seeing how much Jessica loves writing and drawing in hers.
Day 40 – I am grateful for a fun evening at the Legoland Hotel with my family.
Day 41 – I am grateful for being able to take advantage of my mum coming to stay for a few days and getting to have a date night with this lovely hubby of mine.
