This week has been all about dance with a dance festival at the weekend and an extra dance class being added to Sophie’s regular routine of dance classes.

Sophie had two new dances going out for the first time at the weekend – a new modern solo and a new musical theatre solo. She performed them both beautifully and placed third in her modern section which was an amazing result for first time out. She also came away with medals for fourth place in her lyrical solo, third place in her musical theatre duet and second place in her character solo.

This week, Sophie was also thrilled to be told that she’s been selected for the Year 7/8 Advanced Dance collective at school. She already does a lunchtime lyrical dance class and now has another dance class after school to prepare for taking part in the dance show at the end of this term.
It’s so lovely to see how much joy she gets from dancing and to see how much she is growing and improving as a dancer.
Thomas has been taking drama classes at the same dance school and is currently preparing for his first LAMDA exam. He gets a lot of joy out of his classes too and I love how supportive and encouraging the dance school are with him too.
What I’ve been grateful for this week:

- Day 16 – I am grateful for quiet time to spend with Jessica.
- Day 17 – I am grateful for a 3rd place medal for Sophie’s beautiful new modern solo which she danced for the first time at Bright Star Dance Festival today.
- Day 18 – I am grateful for moments of joy in a busy day.
- Day 19 – I am grateful for card games.
- Day 20 – I am grateful for Mathlink cubes.
- Day 21 – I am grateful that Thomas had fun making Numberblocks.
- Day 22 – I am grateful for a lovely evening seeing some of Sophie’s dance friends performing in panto.
Other things that have made me smile this week:
- Meeting up with a friend for brunch.
- Seeing Sophie being part of the colour party at Girls’ Brigade.

It sounds like Sophie is doing so well with her dancing, you must be so proud! Well done to Thomas too, good luck with his exam. x
Big congratulations to Sophie. She is a very talented young lady, you must be very proud 🙂 Good luck to Thomas with his exam, the two of them will be taking the West End by storm!
So nice to hear how Sophie and Thomas are doing with dance & drama. Competitions just weren’t a thing back when I danced. Glad to hear you found time to be able to meet up with a friend for brunch. I need to do the same with one of my friends, it’s just hard to think where to go where you can spend hours chatting, especially as she’s gluten free which limits options for some places.
Well done, Sophie! It always looks like she’s enjoying herself in the dance and drama photos that you share.
Good luck to Thomas when he takes his exam.
It’s good that you had some quiet time with Jessica and a catch-up with a friend, too. Your weeks always sound so full, so it’s nice that you can take some time for yourself as well.
Oh my! That first image is just so lovely. Drama and dance really, are both so great to help kids with confidence!
