From the mouths of babes #132 – Sophie-isms

From the mouths of babes is a weekly linky which invites you to share a post, old or new, about something your children have said. Those adorable mispronounced words, the glimpses into their imaginations, the blunt observations – whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it!

Thank you to everyone who linked up last week.  I found it interesting to read about Escape with the Family’s learning journey with French so far – and how her children are each progressing.

A sleepy Sophie holding Mummy's hand - "From the mouths of babes #132 - Sophie-isms"

Sophie’s speech is quite clear now but some of her toddlerisms persist and I’m not really in any hurry to see them go. I love the way she says “mimit” instead of “minute” and her ‘r’ sounds are often more ‘w’ sounds so we have “wain” instead of “rain”.

She nearly always wants me to put her to bed even when Daddy is home to take over for bedtime. She loves it when I sit and hold her hand as she falls asleep.

“I don’t want Daddy to hold my hand,” she told me one night. “He’s not very good. He’s not beautiful like you Mummy.”

If you have any posts about something that your children have been saying lately, please do come and link up. The linky opens each Monday from 6am and closes on Friday at 11pm so there is plenty of time to link up your posts (old and new posts are welcome!). Please add the badge below to your post so others know where they can also link up (the badge code is below). I will also try and share posts via Twitter – please use the hashtag #ftmob and I’ll do my best to retweet them. I also have a Pinterest board and will be sharing posts here too.

Looking forward to reading what your little ones have been saying!

  1. How very lovely of your daughter to think of you that way. I am with you and cherish the way the children talk in their own individual ways
