From the mouths of babes #104 – Sophie’s little sayings

From the mouths of babes is a weekly linky which invites you to share a post, old or new, about something your children have said. Those adorable mispronounced words, the glimpses into their imaginations, the blunt observations – whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it!

Thank you to everyone who linked up last week. Confessions of a Crummy Mummy was on a crowded bus when faced with the question of how Daddy put the baby in her tummy. She managed to postpone giving an answer – what would you have said? I also loved Lily’s picture and letter to Netflix asking them to bring Heidi back shared by Our Cherry Tree.

Some of Sophie’s regular expressions make me chuckle.  If she is having a conversation with Jessica and wants to tell her something, she’ll often start it with “I’m sorry, Jekka…”

“I’m sorry, Jekka, I need to drink my milk now.”

“I’m sorry, Jekka, I have to put my shoes on.”

“I’m sorry, Jekka, Mummy says it’s time for bed now.”

She also loves to describe things as being her favourite whenever she’s talking about them:

“Seroo! [cereal] My favourite!”

“I love Queen Elsa. Queen Elsa is my favourite.”

The other day though, I was putting cream on her to soothe her eczema when she suddenly declared “Eczema is my favourite!” Bless her.

Last week, Sophie made me laugh as she walked into the kitchen with her trousers on the low-slung side and her nappy showing at the back. She wiggled her bottom at me and said “Look Mummy, I’m being Daddy!” Poor Daddy!

If you have any posts about something that your children have been saying lately, please do come and link up. The linky opens each Monday from 6am and closes on Friday at 11pm so there is plenty of time to link up your posts (old and new posts are welcome!). Please add the badge below to your post so others know where they can also link up (the badge code is below). I will also try and share posts via Twitter – please use the hashtag #ftmob and I’ll do my best to retweet them. I also have a Pinterest board and will be sharing posts here too.

Looking forward to reading what your little ones have been saying!

    1. Thank you Dean – she’s starting to say “Jessica” more clearly now. I will be sad if “Jekka” disappears altogether though – it is cute. Although occasionally Jessica will correct her and say “It’s not Jekka, it’s Jess-i-ca!” 🙂

    1. Thank you Caroline – that one did make me chuckle! Not sure hubby found it quite so funny, lol! 🙂

  1. The comparison with Daddy made me chuckle. Watch out where that “I’m sorry ..” is coming from just in case you apologise for yourself too much

    1. Thank you Kate – that’s a good point about the “I’m sorry…” I don’t think I apologise for myself a lot but something to be more aware of I think.
