From the mouths of babes #101 – Chocolate spinning plates

Happy New Year to you all! From the mouths of babes is now entering into its third year. I’ve enjoyed reading and watching all the posts linked up over the last couple of years and chuckling over some of the funny things that your children have said and am looking forward to seeing what posts 2017 will bring.

If this is your first time here – welcome! From the mouths of babes is a weekly linky which invites you to share a post, old or new, about something your children have said. Those adorable mispronounced words, the glimpses into their imaginations, the blunt observations – whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it!

A big thank you to everyone who linked up over the festive period and hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Congratulations to Conversations with Hank who is the winner of the “My Quotable Kid” journal.  I loved the sound of Jane’s show for her toys shared by Rainbows are too Beautiful and her advice to her toys to go home carefully because it is “very froggy outside” and Ellamental Mama’s wonderful list of things that her toddler has said.

A packet of white chocolate buttons: From the mouths of babes #101 - Chocolate spinning plates

The girls made me chuckle with some of the things they have said over the festive period.  We had a visit from my close friend Katy, who is godmother to both of the girls  – “Mummy-God Katy” as Sophie kept calling her.

The 4.40am start on Christmas Day might have been quite a bit earlier than I would have liked, but it was lovely to see the girls’ excitement as they opened their stockings.

“Oh wow! Chocolate spinning plates!” said Jessica, as she unwrapped a packet of chocolate buttons.

On Boxing Day, we went to visit my mum. Sophie and I were at the front door first, with Jessica and hubby just appearing as my mum answered the door.

“Hello Nanny!” Sophie said, with a big smile, “this is my sister, Jekka!”

I love that Sophie felt the need to introduce Jessica as if Nanny wouldn’t have known who she was otherwise!

If you have any posts about something that your children have been saying lately, please do come and link up. The linky opens each Monday from 6am and closes on Friday at 11pm so there is plenty of time to link up your posts (old and new posts are welcome!). Please add the badge below to your post so others know where they can also link up (the badge code is below). I will also try and share posts via Twitter – please use the hashtag #ftmob and I’ll do my best to retweet them. I also have a Pinterest board and will be sharing posts here too.

Looking forward to reading what your little ones have been saying!
