From the mouths of babes #100 – a giveaway to celebrate!

I can’t quite believe that this is the 100th ‘From the mouths of babes’ linky and it’s been going for two years now! Thank you so much to everyone who has linked up over that time. I love reading your posts each week about the things that your children have said and watching the videos that you link up.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve been keeping track of the things my children say in my “My Quotable Kid” journal. It’s a fab way of recording those funny #ftmob moments.

To celebrate the 100th #ftmob linky I’m offering a copy of this journal to one of my recent linkers, which I will select at random from the #ftmob posts linked up over the festive period. Those posts linked up last week have already been entered. This week’s linky is open until 30th December, so you have plenty of time to join in.

Celebrating the 100th #ftmob linky with a giveaway for a copy of "My Quotable Kid" journal

If this is your first time here, welcome! From the mouths of babes is a weekly linky which invites you to share a post, old or new, about  your children have said. Those adorable mispronounced words, the glimpses into their imaginations, the blunt observations – whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it!

A big thank you to everyone who linked up last week – you’ve all been entered in to the giveaway for the journal.  I loved reading Le Coin de Mel’s latest family update – Jumpy’s “shark knife” and Beanie’s compliment made me smile. I also loved Molly’s excitement at seeing the tree shared by Conversations with Hank and Mummy Here and There’s son thinking that the beacons on a zebra crossing are pumpkins.

Me, hubby, Jessica, Sophie and Monty with Father Christmas

My girls are getting very excited for Christmas now.  We’ve seen Santa a few times now and Jessica has been fairly consistent in her request for a ‘Frozen house.’ Sophie, on the other hand, changes her mind from moment to moment . Sometimes the response is just “Present!” which makes things nice and simple. Occasionally there is a more unusual request though.  The other day, she asked me for “glasses like Jekka’s and Mummy’s” for Christmas.  Fortunately, I’ve managed to find a pair of toy glasses with clear lenses to go in her stocking!

Although Sophie’s speech is getting clearer by the day, there are still a few toddlerisms here and there. “S” sounds are sometimes a bit tricky. She makes me chuckle whenever she tells me that “Jekka’s at ghoul!” (Jessica’s at school) or asks for “gweeties” (sweeties).

I also love the names that the girls come up with for things. The other day, I was snacking on some biltong. Jessica asked me if she could have “some cow sweeties too” and Sophie just kept coming up and requesting “cow, peese Mummy!”
If you have any posts about something that your children have been saying lately, please do come and link up. This week’s linky is open from 6am on 19th December until 11pm on 30th December so there is plenty of time to link up your posts. Old and new posts are welcome! Please add the badge below to your post so others know where they can also link up (the badge code is below). I will also try and share posts via Twitter. Please use the hashtag #ftmob and I’ll do my best to retweet them. I also have a Pinterest board and will be sharing posts here too. Please note that only posts that fit with the theme of this linky will be entered in to the giveaway, and the winner will be randomly selected.

Looking forward to reading what your little ones have been saying and hope you all have a very merry Christmas! See you in the New Year!

As for cow sweeties, priceless!!! Fab giveaway lovely, I’ve never seen those journals. Out of interest, where do you get them? Will buy one for my best friend to record baby’s first words when she starts speaking. Xx
