Friday Focus 25/08/17 – Just visiting…

I’ve had a bit of a break from the blog this week as we’ve been visiting family and then had my friend Gillian visiting us for a few days. We didn’t have the smoothest of starts to our weekend away though. I arrived at “the moon” (Premier Inn) to find that hubby had booked the wrong date and there was no room at the inn. Thankfully I did manage to find a lovely B&B nearby for the first night and another “moon” about 30 minutes away for the second night. We then had a couple of nights staying at Auntie Fizz’s house before heading back home for Godmummy Gillian’s visit.

Visiting - this week's word of the week

Things I have loved this week:

  • Spending time with my mum and siblings.

  • Catching up with one of my school friends.

  • Going on the Gruffalo Spotter trail at Alice Holt Forest.

Sophie and Jessica with the Gruffalo

  • A day at the beach with my twin sister and our girls.

Jessica, cousin Ebony, Auntie Fizz, cousin Erin, Sophie and me standing outside a blue and white beach hut on West Wittering beach

  • Jessica appearing in the Daily Mirror to help raise awareness of congenital heart defects and the fab work Tiny Tickers do with helping to improve early detection.

  • Stopping off at the Devil’s Punchbowl and going for a walk there on our way home from visiting my family.

  • Following the Reptile Trail at Black Park.

  • Spending time with my friend Gillian.

  • The beautiful quilt that Gillian’s mum has made for Jessica to take with her into hospital when she has her surgery. We’re still waiting for a date for the surgery.

  • Being able to put the washing out on the line.

  • Being able to take the girls to the park on their bikes thanks to Godmummy Gillian providing an extra pair of hands.

  1. What a lovely week you have had, apart from the hotel mix up, that would have stressed me out. I’m glad you managed to find somewhere else. The weather has been a little kinder this week too x

    1. It’s been glorious over the last few days. So nice to see a bit of summer returning 🙂

  2. I’m glad you’ve managed to get a break from blogging, it sounds like you’ve had a lovely week. I do hope it doesn’t take too long before you get a date for Jessica’s op, it must be terrible waiting and not knowing.

    1. Thank you Nat. It’s not fun waiting but on the plus side, we’ve had the whole summer to enjoy which was more than I was expecting at the start of the holidays 🙂

  3. What a great week (ignoring the date mix up), visiting family and friends. Good to have a blog break too and enjoy your time with everyone, I should imagine. I am loving getting the washing on the line. No-one is interested but I still tell the family every day how many loads of washing I’ve dried! What a lovely thought to make Jessica a quilt for hospital. Hope next week is wonderful again for you. #wotw

  4. Oops. I bet your hubby was in the bad books for messing the dates up. I am glad you managed to find somewhere else to stay. It sounds like a lovely week and looks like you had plenty of fun! #WotW

    1. Thanks Kim – I wasn’t very impressed about it! The place we ended up staying in was lovely though so he was soon forgiven! 🙂

  5. Sounds like a wonderful week, aside from the problems with ‘the moon’ – glad you sorted something else out, though must have been a stressful moment or two! Looks like the girls have had plenty of fun and it’s always great to spend time with family and friends x Thanks for sharing with #WotW
