It’s been quite an eventful week. Last weekend was a fun-filled, but very busy one. We enjoyed an overnight stay at Chessington World of Adventures where we got to try out the new Gruffalo ride last Saturday. We were also lucky enough to have the opportunity to meet Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler and have a couple of books signed by them.… Read more
Sunny days, warmer weather, daffodils blooming in the garden – it must be Spring! This week has seen us shedding our winter coats and enjoying trips to the park after school.
I love getting out and about at this time of year. The world is such a pretty place. The trees are full of pink and white blossom, the rhododendrons are starting to bloom and daffodils seem to be waving their bright cheery heads everywhere.… Read more
This week has left me feeling quite tired. We’re used to the girls climbing into our bed during the night and co-sleeping. On the whole, we usually sleep reasonably well but Jessica and Sophie have both been a little under the weather which has made them both fidget.
Sophie had her preschool boosters this week and has mostly been fine but was a bit restless the night after.… Read more
I’ve taken a few days off from the blog this week to focus on sorting things out in the house and catching up on various tasks I’ve been putting off. I bought The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying book quite a while back. It’s been gathering dust (quite literally, and somewhat ironically!) ever since.… Read more
The girls have been on half-term this week and I have enjoyed us all being together again this week. I’ve settled in to the routine of school and preschool now. The little window of time I have to myself in a normal school week is wonderful, but I do miss having both my girls at home all day. It’s been lovely to step out of our usual routine and just have fun together.… Read more
I’ve been busy baking this week, with a little help from Sophie. Last Saturday we had a coffee morning at church to raise money for Little Hearts Matter. I always bake cheese scones for the coffee morning as I know they are popular. I should have baked a few more this time as they were all gone by the middle of the morning!… Read more
I’ve been revisiting memories this week. We spent last weekend in Torquay for the Land’s End – John O’Groats Association awards dinner. Sophie was awarded the Jack Adams/Richard Elloway trophy for being the youngest person to journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats last year and we all received our certificates for completing the journey.… Read more
I’ve been flying solo for most of this week as hubby has been away working on an event in Amsterdam. Being on my own this week has seemed a little more manageable though. I think having a couple of little pockets of time to myself while both girls are at school and preschool has helped.… Read more
“If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. … We need not wait to see what others do.” (Mahatma Gandhi)
The above quote is usually shortened to “be the change you wish to see in the world.” It’s a reminder that change starts with ourselves.… Read more
This week has seen a big step for Sophie as she started preschool on Monday. Jessica was very excited about her little sister going to preschool and enjoyed telling her all about it. I think she might have been more excited than Sophie was! I’ve been enjoying the walks to and from preschool again.… Read more
