Our back garden has very much been a work in progress over the last couple of years. The borders were full of shrubs when we first moved it. We didn’t know what most of them were and we didn’t really have the time, knowledge or the inclination to maintain them properly.… Read more
I’ve done a lot of things with my girls, but one of the things we hadn’t yet done together was a cinema trip. An invite to the screening of Surf’s Up 2: WaveMania at Sony Pictures Home Entertainments’ offices was the perfect opportunity to introduce the girls to seeing a film on a big screen.… Read more
As a family we love to get out and about and enjoy time outdoors together. I’ve always been a big believer in the mantra that there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing. That said, my eldest daughter Jessica does get cold very easily in the winter due to her heart condition, and it’s important that she is warmly dressed.… Read more
I can’t resist buying pretty dresses for the girls. They’re still at the age where they’re happy to let me choose their clothes and wear matching dresses. I have to admit I’m making the most of it while I still can! They have a lot of pretty dresses in their wardrobe, especially as both Nanny and Grandma also enjoy buying them clothes.… Read more
What happens when a whole host of fairy tale characters go online? Does Cinderella still need the assistance of her Fairy Godmother even when technology can help her go to the ball? With all the wonders that the internet can bring, what can possibly go wrong?
Last weekend, we were invited to have tea with Father Christmas at the Wyevale Garden Centre in Osterley. We’ve seen Father Christmas a couple of times already this year but the girls still get just as excited at the prospect of seeing him again in the run-up to Christmas.
We had to pre-book and order our food in advance. There was a choice of a hot or cold tea for the girls (priced at £9.99 each) and either a full afternoon tea or a mini tea for the adults (£7.99 and £3.99 respectively). We opted for sausages, beans and mash for the girls and a full afternoon tea for myself, hubby and my mum (who was staying with us for the weekend).… Read more
Jessica and Sophie love watching Messy Goes to Okido on CBeebies so when we were recently sent a Large Talking Messy Monster from Golden Bear Toys to review, I knew they would love it. They were both very excited when they first opened the box and spotted Messy. Pressing his tummy and hearing some of the phrases that he says in the TV programme had them in fits of giggles.… Read more
The Toddlebike2 is a pre-balance bike aimed at toddlers to help bridge the gap between baby ride-on toys and moving on to balance bikes and scooters. It can be used from when a toddler is confident with walking –around 18 months. At almost three, Sophie is right at the upper end of the target age range for the Toddlebike2 but she has been having a wonderful time trying it out.… Read more
My girls love books – especially ones with bright colourful illustrations, animal characters and stories being told in rhyme. We were recently sent a copy of Harty Hedgehog and his BuZZy Friends, one of the books in the BuZZy Friends series of books, which ticked all of those boxes.
The BuZZy friends books were originally created by Michael Walter to amuse his granddaughter. The stories help to guide children through various experiences that they might encounter, and include the “BuZZy Code” – a rhyme which helps to encourage children to be kind and thoughtful.… Read more
Over the past few weeks, the girls and I have enjoyed several baking sessions. We’ve made cupcakes and cake pops, cookies and chocolate cake. During our baking sessions we’ve been using the items supplied in the Real Baking Great Baking Set, and this week we also tried out the chocolate pen too, both of which we were sent by Vivid Real Baking.… Read more
