A section of two pages in Once Upon A Time... Online

Review – Once Upon A Time… Online

What happens when a whole host of fairy tale characters go online? Does Cinderella still need the assistance of her Fairy Godmother even when technology can help her go to the ball? With all the wonders that the internet can bring, what can possibly go wrong?

Review - Once Upon A Time... Online

We were recently sent a copy of the children’s book Once Upon A Time… Online by David Bedford and Rosie Reeves which mixes up some of the traditional fairy tales and adds a modern twist.… Read more

Tea with Father Christmas at Wyevale Garden Centre

Last weekend, we were invited to have tea with Father Christmas at the Wyevale Garden Centre in Osterley. We’ve seen Father Christmas a couple of times already this year but the girls still get just as excited at the prospect of seeing him again in the run-up to Christmas.

Jessica and Sophie pose with Father Christmas after having tea with him at a Wyevale Garden Centre

We had to pre-book and order our food in advance.  There was a choice of a hot or cold tea for the girls (priced at £9.99 each) and either a full afternoon tea or a mini tea for the adults (£7.99 and £3.99 respectively).  We opted for sausages, beans and mash for the girls and a full afternoon tea for myself, hubby and my mum (who was staying with us for the weekend).… Read more

Review – Large Talking Messy Monster

Jessica and Sophie love watching Messy Goes to Okido on CBeebies so when we were recently sent a Large Talking Messy Monster from Golden Bear Toys to review, I knew they would love it.  They were both very excited when they first opened the box and spotted Messy. Pressing his tummy and hearing some of the phrases that he says in the TV programme had them in fits of giggles.… Read more

The Toddlebike2 is a pre-balance bike aimed at toddlers to help bridge the gap between baby ride-on toys and moving on to balance bikes and scooters.  It can be used from when a toddler is confident with walking –around 18 months.  At almost three, Sophie is right at the upper end of the target age range for the Toddlebike2 but she has been having a wonderful time trying it out.… Read more

A double-page spread from the Harty Hedgehog and his BuZZy Friends book

Review and giveaway – Buzzy Friends

My girls love books – especially ones with bright colourful illustrations, animal characters and stories being told in rhyme. We were recently sent a copy of Harty Hedgehog and his BuZZy Friends, one of the books in the BuZZy Friends series of books, which ticked all of those boxes.

A review of children's book "Harty Hedgehog and his BuZZy Friends" - plus a giveaway to win a copy

The BuZZy friends books were originally created by Michael Walter to amuse his granddaughter.  The stories help to guide children through various experiences that they might encounter, and include the “BuZZy Code” – a rhyme which helps to encourage children to be kind and thoughtful.… Read more

Win a brunch for two with POM Wonderful

Win a brunch for two with POM Wonderful

As a busy mummy of two with a tendency to burn the candle at both ends, I’m somewhat reliant on a cup of coffee or two in the mornings to get me going.  Sometimes I wonder if I drink a little too much coffee though, and whether it would be best to swap my mid-morning cuppa with another drink.  I was recently invited to do just that – to swap my coffee for some POM Wonderful 100% pomegranate juice over a delicious brunch.… Read more

Review – Fantastic Services oven cleaning

I have to confess that oven cleaning is one of those jobs that I constantly put off doing.  I’ll wash the grill pan, wipe the hob over and give the front of the oven a quick clean, but cleaning the oven properly – well, it just doesn’t happen as often as it should.  The trouble was, that I’d been putting it off so long that my oven really was quite disgusting and I knew I really needed to just grit my teeth and get on with it.  Thankfully, that moment happened to coincide with an email from Fantastic Services inviting me to review one of their services, which included oven cleaning.  The opportunity to have someone else do my least-favourite chore for me was not one I was about to turn down.… Read more

CaseApp custom phone case and laptop skin – review and giveaway

One of the best presents my hubby ever bought me was a personalised case for my iPhone.  It was our first Christmas as a family of four and the case was printed with a photo of the four of us, taken when Sophie was just a week old.  A happy moment captured and remembered every time I picked up my phone.  Sadly, two-and-a-half years on, the photo has become very faded.  I had been thinking about getting a new case when I was contacted by CaseApp inviting me to review a custom case/skin for my phone and laptop – the perfect opportunity to replace my tired-looking case with a new one featuring an updated photo.… Read more

Dr. Beckmann products for washing machine and dishwasher – Review and Giveaway

My washing machine and dishwasher are essential items in my house – both of them feeling like they are in almost constant use at time. The thought of either of them breaking down is enough to leave me in a cold sweat.  I know that cleaning and limescale removal are both important in helping prolong the life of them both and was recently sent some products from Dr.Read more
