From the mouths of babes is a weekly linky which invites you to share a post, old or new, about something your children have said. Those adorable mispronounced words, the glimpses into their imaginations, the blunt observations – whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it!
A big thank you to everyone who linked up last week. Inside Martyn’s Thoughts made me chuckle with James whispering “I know where you live” – very funny but just a little bit sinister! I also loved Le Coin de Mel’s family update – Jumpy’s complaint that the sun was looking at her made me chuckle.
I was sitting on the sofa the other day and Jessica kept kicking my leg. Naturally, I told her to stop kicking me. Her response?
“I’m not kicking you, Mummy. My foot is giving you a kiss.”
We recently went to the Enchanted Museum event at Chiltern Open Air Museum where we got to see a real unicorn – or as Jessica put it: “Look Mummy – a corn!”
The Enchanted Museum event also marked the appearance of Jessica’s new favourite phrase when the giggles in the back of the car with Godmummy Katy were evidently getting a little out of hand – “oh dear, this is getting rather silly!” It now gets repeated every time Jessica ends up in a fit of giggles over something – which happens quite a lot! What’s even funnier is the fact that just saying it makes her giggle even more.
If you have any posts about something that your children have been saying lately, please do come and link up. The linky opens each Monday from 6am and closes on Friday at 11pm so there is plenty of time to link up your posts (old and new posts are welcome!). Please add the badge below to your post so others know where they can also link up (the badge code is below). I will also try and share posts via Twitter – please use the hashtag #ftmob and I’ll do my best to retweet them. I also have a Pinterest board and will be sharing posts here too.
Looking forward to reading what your little ones have been saying!
This is a great thought to write about and will make these baby words engraved in memory land as a happy and cute gesture.
Thank you Fran, I love recording all the things the girls say 🙂
Love that! Let’s hope her feet don’t give you kisses too often. You might end up badly bruised otherwise 🙂 I think a “corn” sound even cuter than a “unicorn!”
Thanks for the mention of Jumpy’s shenanigans. She’s just too sweet!
x
Thanks Mel. I did love “corn” for “unicorn” and thankfully I haven’t had too many more foot kisses since! 🙂
Love this! I know the lady on the ‘unicorn’ at COAM very well and so I had a bit of a surprise when I read this today! #ftmob
Oh wow – my girls would be very impressed to know that! They were quite taken by the “fairy princess” on her unicorn 🙂
Oh dear! I hope she doesn’t give you too many of those type of kisses!
x Alice
Thankfully we’ve not had any more since! 🙂
Aw bless a kiss foot and there is something really hilarious when kids say something about a situation is silly X #ftmob
It makes me chuckle every time she says it – especially as it gives her the giggles each time and it’s just so infectious! 🙂
Aww bless I love that her foot was giving you a kiss. They are so funny. Kids say the funniest of things. xx
It did make me chuckle – even if it wasn’t the most comfortable “kiss” I’ve ever received! 🙂
Haha love the ‘corn’ and hmm foot kisses… Nice try haha xx
Have to say I’m not a fan of the foot kisses although I did love “corn” 🙂
Foot is giving you a kiss… she had you there I think! Ha ha xxx
I think you’re right! 🙂
Haha!!! Crikey, in that case my boys are always giving each other ‘kisses’ on the face! 😉
Bless her. Cute even when she is being a pickle 😉
xx
That unicorn is amazing by the way!
Can imagine as a little girl you would be in awe of that!

It was cute although I wasn’t so impressed by the “kiss!” The unicorn was magical though – I’m not sure who was more impressed me or the girls! 🙂
Feet kisses still sound a bit painful. Hehe. I love it when toddlers use grownup phrases like that. So funny.
They’re not the best kisses I’ve ever had! 🙂
