Christmas Bricktacular: 7 things we loved about our festive day out at Legoland

As my regular readers will know, Legoland is one of our favourite places. Last year we went to the Christmas Bricktacular event for the first time. It was such a magical experience that we made sure we booked to go again this year. Here are ten things that we loved about our experience at Legoland Christmas Bricktacular:

Christmas – when it all gets a bit much

There is a moment every Christmas, where everything just gets a bit too much. The moment when the to-do list suddenly feels too long; when the pressure to be perfect is too intense; when the hustle and bustle of the festive season feels too overwhelming.  There is a moment when suddenly the bubble pops and Mummy snaps.… Read more

Tea with Father Christmas at Wyevale Garden Centre

Last weekend, we were invited to have tea with Father Christmas at the Wyevale Garden Centre in Osterley. We’ve seen Father Christmas a couple of times already this year but the girls still get just as excited at the prospect of seeing him again in the run-up to Christmas.

Creating a book advent calendar for toddlers and preschoolers

Last year the girls had a book advent calendar – one book to unwrap every day in December until Christmas Day.  They loved it so much that I will be doing the same again this year.  I have a feeling it may become a tradition.  There’s something quite magical about snuggling on the sofa together every night in December and enjoying a Christmassy book together.… Read more

Creative ideas for festive photos with little children

Over the last few years it has become a tradition to take a festive-themed photo of the children for our Christmas card for close family and friends. I love coming up with ideas for different tableaux and trying to recreate them. Admittedly the girls aren’t always co-operative but I’ve mostly managed to get the gist of what was in my head on to camera, and it’s become a lovely way of looking back to see the girls growing up.… Read more
