10 new blogs I have loved in 2016

Last year I shared my favourite ten blogs and this year, I thought I would share my favourite ten blogs that I have discovered for the first time in 2016.  Some of these bloggers have been blogging for a while; others are a more recent addition to the blogosphere.  Here are my top ten new blogs that I have loved in 2016 and look forward to reading more from in 2017:

The Linky Linky

Linkies are such a fabulous way of building blogging communities though helping bloggers promote their own posts and find others to read.  There are so many linkies out there though that it can be hard to keep up with what linkies are available and which days they open.  The Linky Linky, run by the lovely Claire at Life, Love and Dirty Dishes is the perfect place to find out about the different linkies available and when they open.  It’s a linky that’s just for linkies – a place where bloggers can find lots of great linky parties to join in with, and those bloggers who run linkies have a chance to promote theirs.  This week I am honoured to be joining Claire as a co-host and I’m looking forward to perhaps discovering some new linkies as a result!… Read more

Blogging: behind the scenes

I find interesting to read about other bloggers’ approaches to planning and writing blog posts.  The blogosphere is such a varied community – everyone has different styles and approaches to blogging. I enjoyed reading a post by The Frenchie Mummy recently joining in with the Behind the Scenes Blogging Tag which has prompted me to share my own answers to the questions.… Read more

#Britmums Live second time around - what I did differently at #BML16

Britmums Live second time around – what I did differently at #BML16

I love the buzz of blogging conferences – the chance to learn new things and to meet up with fellow bloggers, not to mention that for a few hours I am completely me.  Being “Mummy” is the best label in the world, but to be able to regain my own identity for just a few hours is always an amazing feeling.  A couple of weeks ago I went to Britmums Live for the second time.  Whilst I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first time (if not more), it was quite a different experience second time around.… Read more

I'm going to #BML16 - Little Hearts, Big Love

I’m going to #BML16

There’s just a month to go until #BML16 and I’m getting quite excited at the prospect of a day to learn more about blogging and social media, not to mention the opportunity to meet so many other bloggers who have been such a huge part of my online social life (which sadly is much more active than my real-life social life!) as well as those whose blogs I have yet to discover.  Here’s a little more about me and what I’m hoping to get out of my #BML16 experience.… Read more

Parenting bloggers: there's room for all of us - Little Hearts, Big Love

Parenting bloggers: there’s room for all of us

There are a lot of parenting blogs out there. Over 8000 active parenting blogs on the Tots100 index alone.  Sometimes it might seem that the internet is a little saturated with parenting blogs, all trying to make their voices heard.  Awards seasons can cause bloggers to compare themselves unfavourably to others, to feel like they’re not good enough, and sadly occasionally bloggers find themselves being attacked by other bloggers – made to feel that their words aren’t good enough, that they have nothing original to say and that they should just quit.  Well you know what?… Read more

A little slice of blogging brilliance: being shortlisted for the BiBs - Little Hearts, Big Love

A little slice of blogging brilliance: being shortlisted for the BiBs

Being recognised for something that you put a lot of time and effort in to, especially when its unexpected, is an amazing feeling.  A few weeks ago, I asked my readers to consider nominating me in a couple of big blog awards.  One of those awards – the Brilliance in Blogging (BiBs) awards announced their shortlist yesterday and I was thrilled to discover that Little Hearts, Big Love had made the shortlist in the Family blog category.  Thank you so much to everyone who nominated me and helped my blog to make the shortlist.… Read more

It’s blogging awards season – and I’d love a nomination!

It’s the start of the blogging awards season,
Dear reader, and this is the reason
For this cheeky plea: nominate me!

In the MADS, I fit best into “preschool”;
In the BiBs, a vote would be quite cool
In either “Inspire” or in “Family”

I blog about the things that kids say,
Crafts, days out, family life day to day:
The musings of a mummy and wife.… Read more
