I’ve taken a few days off from the blog this week to focus on sorting things out in the house and catching up on various tasks I’ve been putting off. I bought The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying book quite a while back. It’s been gathering dust (quite literally, and somewhat ironically!) ever since.… Read more
From the mouths of babes is a weekly linky which invites you to share a post, old or new, about something your children have said. Those adorable mispronounced words, the glimpses into their imaginations, the blunt observations – whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it!
#365daysofgratitude is my challenge for 2017 to share one photo a day on Instagram of something I am grateful for. I took part in a similar challenge last year and loved it so am looking forward to continuing with it this year. Here are the things that I’ve been grateful for over the past week.… Read more
Being a heart family brings many challenges and struggles, but it has also brought many moments of joy too. Meeting other heart families, building friendships and seeing Jessica bond with other heart children has been one of the biggest positives of this journey. To be able to talk to another family who understands the rollercoaster ride that comes with a CHD diagnosis makes the journey a little easier.… Read more
Living inland means opportunities to walk along a beach are a rare treat for my girls. We couldn’t resist the opportunity to have fun on the beach during our recent weekend in Torquay even if it was January!

The girls have been on half-term this week and I have enjoyed us all being together again this week. I’ve settled in to the routine of school and preschool now. The little window of time I have to myself in a normal school week is wonderful, but I do miss having both my girls at home all day. It’s been lovely to step out of our usual routine and just have fun together.… Read more

Last month, we attended the Land’s End-John O’Groats Association awards dinner in Torquay where we were presented with our certificates and Sophie won the Jack Adams/Richard Elloway trophy for being the youngest person to do the journey in 2016.… Read more

Heart to Heart linky was set up to help other heart families share their stories and experiences in order to help support each other as a community. It opens on the 15th of each month and stays open for a week so there is plenty of time to share your CHD-related posts.… Read more
We’re on half-term this week. The thing I love most about half-term is having both my girls at home and watching them enjoying spending time together again. To sit and listen to them playing with their toys and really using their imaginations is such a joy. They are much happier playing together during the weekends and holidays than in the afternoons during term-time.… Read more
