Spring - this week's word of the week

Friday Focus 17/03/17 – Spring is in the air

Sunny days, warmer weather, daffodils blooming in the garden – it must be Spring! This week has seen us shedding our winter coats and enjoying trips to the park after school.

I love getting out and about at this time of year. The world is such a pretty place. The trees are full of pink and white blossom, the rhododendrons are starting to bloom and daffodils seem to be waving their bright cheery heads everywhere. Being able to shed the winter coat for the first time in the year is always such a wonderful moment.

I always feel a little more energised this time of year. It’s a good time of year to have a clear-out and the decluttering at home has been continuing. It’s such a satisfying feeling to let go of the things I no longer need and free up some space at home.

Things I have loved this week:

  • Bumping into our old community nurse who was a regular visitor to our house for the first couple of years of Jessica’s life and having a very quick catch-up.
  • Having one-to-one time with Jessica on a day out with the Girls’ Brigade while Sophie and hubby enjoyed some daddy-daughter time.

  • Washing drying on the line in the sunshine.

The finished Easter basket filled with pink glittery eggs

  • Sophie bringing home artwork from preschool.

Sophie's painting that she did at preschool - "dots and splashes of paint"

  • Watching Jessica singing with the rest of her class in their class assembly.
  • An afternoon exploring the Temple Gardens at Langley Park with Sophie.

I love the photo of you and Jessica, she really looks like you doesn’t she. The egg baskets are lovely and so is Sophie’s art work. It sounds like you have a lot to be thankful for this week xx

Thank you Anne – I can never normally see any resemblance but I can definitely see it in that photo too. It’s been a lovely week on the whole 🙂

It’s rainy and cold here now but it was nice while it lasted! There’s just something about being able to get the washing out though, isn’t there? 🙂

This week has definitely not been quite so nice weather-wise! Looking forward to the sunshine coming back again though x

Ah de-cluttering is so satisfying for sure and it’s surprising how different a place looks with a simple move around of furniture. #ThatFridayLinky

It does make such a difference. We’ve still got quite a way to go on the de-cluttering front but we’re getting there! 🙂

What a lovely week, I love bumping into people I haven’t seen for ages, we had had awful weather this week, the worst rain in a long time. It started out ok but went down hill fast, I hope it moves away and brightens up soon. And congrats on the ambassadorship thats fab news xxx

What a lovely week you’ve had – and congratulations on your blogger ambassador role. And for Jessica’s story making it into Candis magazine. Well done all round!
Your and Jessica look so happy in your selfie photo. It’s always lovely to be able to take time out and spend it one-on-one with the children.
I do like your glitterry Easter eggs – I haven’t started my Easter craft yet with the kids, will get onto that after Mother’s Day!
We’ve enjoyed going to the park after school, too. It’s a lovely change to rushing home and sheltering from the wind and rain isn’t it?! Yup, let’s hope Spring is here to stay!
    Have a lovely week, Louise
