#withkindnessandlove 4 – stories of kindness and sharing some blog love

#withkindnessandlove is my new series for 2017. Each week, I will be sharing some stories of kindness along with some things that have made me smile during the week.  Some weeks I might share a quote that has inspired me, or some suggestions for small acts of kindness that I have come across. I’m hoping to make 2017 my year of kindness and I’d love for you to join me along the way.

Little moments of kindness

Friday afternoons/evenings are always busy ones for me with Jessica having her ballet class after school followed by Girls’ Brigade. As hubby is usually working late or away, Sophie has to come out with me when I go to collect Jessica after Girls’ Brigade. Last week though, she fell asleep on the way home from dropping Jessica off. I was so thankful that my mother-in-law could come over so that I could put Sophie straight to bed and not have to disturb her to again to go and pick Jessica up. Thank you for being able to help out.

“A few weeks ago I was lost in New York & my phone was dead. I had no way to contact my family or any clue where my hotel was plus it was minus 6!! I popped in to a restaurant for help and when the guy working saw I was upset and had a toddler with me he asked his manager for permission to walk us to the hotel. The manager agreed and offered us to use the bathroom, have a sit down and hot drink before we set off. Such a lovely gesture in a very busy city and totally warmed my heart” (Hannah – Hi Baby)

“Someone bought my Christmas food shop for me when I got to the till with 100 of shopping and no purse plus a wailing 6 month old on the 23rd December! She was so lovely about it and and I didn’t even have a way to prove I was who I said I was! She just wrote her paypal address down for me on the back of the receipt so I could pay her back when I got home!” (Lauren – Belle du Brighton)

Sharing some blog love

A blog post that’s trying to make a difference

This week I’d like to share a post from The Squirmy Popple highlighting the fabulous work that the Lanarkshire Baby Bank are doing to help provide struggling parents with things they need for their babies – things like nappies, formula and baby clothes. Being a parent can be stressful enough when you’re not worrying about how to provide your child with these things; I cannot imagine how hard it must be to have this to worry about on top. The Lanarkshire Baby Bank is currently under threat of closure – please do take a moment to pop over and read this post to find out what you can do to help.

A photo that made me smile

I love this photo from @verymuchsoblog capturing the pure joys of a small child having fun outside. Muddy puddles and butterfly wings – what a wonderful combination.

The joys of being two. Splashing in muddy puddles in the winter sun whilst wearing butterfly wings. What more could a girl want?!
