This year I’ve set myself a reading target of one book a month and so far I’m managing to stay on track with this. This month’s #BringBackPaper papery challenge from The Reading Residence was a book swap and it was lovely to receive a surprise book in the post as part of this. The book I received is ‘The Last September’ by Elizabeth Bowen which is one I’ve never read and it’s next on my reading list so I’m looking forward to reading it.
I received a copy of ‘The Edge of Dark’ by Pamela Hartshorne to read and review – it’s a timeslip story with a dual narrative about two women born more than four hundred years apart whose lives become interwoven through their experiences at Holmwood House, an Elizabeth mansion. I love historical fiction and this was a book I really enjoyed.
Most of my writing this month has been in my 40acts journal – keeping track of my progress through this year’s Lent generosity challenge. I’ve also been getting back into the habit of making lots of lists to help me keep track of everything.
I made a family tree picture for my mum’s birthday earlier this month which she absolutely loved as it means she finally has a picture showing all her children and grandchildren together.
Jessica has been enjoying lots of papery craft activities this month – painting, making a paper plate aquarium, lots of different cards and a paper flower bouquet for Grandma for Mother’s Day.
What papery activities have you been enjoying this month?
